ALL NEW Quest 3 & 2 Accessories Launched

The news is here, Bobo VR is launching its entire next accessories lineup.

Were getting stuff for the Quest 3. We’re getting stuff that can be used on Quest 2 and things that can help you swap your old parts from Quest 2 to Quest 3 or even vice versa.

BD3 Charging Dock

First up, Bobo VR’s dropping their new BD3 upgrade kit. So this is a charging dock for the new B100 batteries that charge up to three of them simultaneously. Important note, first thing here, this does not include additional batteries, this is just a dock, and that’s why the price seems a little lower at $39.99

Although the USB ports on the batteries are limited to 15 watts, this thing can put up to 30 watts in through the bottom of the battery, the same part that connects to the docks, allowing it to charge up to 80% in 1 hour.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Another notice to keep in mind here, this is all going off the Bobo VR press release, the information they’ve given so far. In the past, they’ve shown to be extremely accurate and have delivered on what they promised, but still, I don’t have these yet. I will be getting these to review, just keep that in mind.

100 Watts CHARGER

This dock can provide 30 W fast charging power to each battery simultaneously, but that only works if you use the included charging cable that can handle that wattage.

You need a power brick that can go up to 100 watts of charging.

They recommend you use 30 to 100. So then if you did have one battery on there, it could still be getting the 30, but if for some reason you need to fast charge three at the same time, you need a 100 W power brick.

It’s hard to imagine a scenario where someone needs all of them to charge that fast, but I do think about VR arcades that we’ve helped with or VR demoing stations.

when they have tons of Bobo batteries, they’re switching them out constantly to keep multiple headsets running, it would make sense for them.

Dock has a SCREEN

Like the head strap, there’s a digital display on these, it shows the output power of the charging dock, and it relays the information about which battery is charging up the fastest, and where they’re at percentage-wise.

So if you did need to grab one quick and it wasn’t charged fully, you would still know which one is the most charged. Like the old dock.

it does include an anti-slip pad so that you can stick this down somewhere semi-permanent, you can move it around, but ideally, you figure out where you want it, and that way when you go to grab batteries, the dock doesn’t slip around.

Dock and Batteries Sold Separately

But again, reminders, it is just the dock, there are no batteries with it and it doesn’t have a power brick either, so hopefully, you have one or you want to order a high-power charging brick for this.

I know the charging bricks are becoming less and less common, I would have loved to see one included here, especially when it needs to be such a high-powered one, but it would probably have doubled the price of the whole dock.

I know that’s why most of the manufacturers aren’t including them anymore, between the price it costs to get them and then of course the extra shipping weight.

but I know personally I don’t have anything above I think a 45-watt charging brick so I’m going to have to get one just to test this when it comes in fully.

All the items are up for pre-order today if you do want to get on it and get ahead of it, especially if you’ve seen what happened with the S3 Pro, they sold so many that it got backed up as to when they’d come out.

And Bobo VR is saying the first pre-orders should arrive about 3 weeks from the launch date of March 31st, just the end of this month.

Costs DO ADD UP

I’m excited personally to have a do for the battery cuz charging my One battery off and on has been a bit of a pain, but I also do realize that if you were to buy the strap, the dock, and two extra batteries essentially giving you all three here, that does bring the total price up to about $210.

So it’s not the cheapest option, but so far the Bobo batteries have been the most reliable.

They don’t make the humming noises we’ve seen with a lot of the other batteries, and their head strap with a fan built into it is my favorite by far.

UPGRADE Quest 2, OR USE 10K Batteries ON QUEST 2

The B100 U upgrade kit is also launching, this is something we talked about coming for, and it’s interesting because this allows you to take last-gen Bobo VR straps like the M2 and even the M1.

You can switch out to these new 10,000 mAh battery packs on those, so that means for Quest 2 users who want to use a 10,000 millah battery pack which would give you a ton of life for your Quest 2,

Keep your M3 Pro

you can just get one of these kits, and swap it out, it’s the kit and the battery, so for $50, that means you’re paying 40 like you would for a battery, and then $10 is giving you the extra Hardware to swap out the dock itself.

it also means the people who took their M2 and got a conversion to switch it up to an M3 can now keep that strap and instead of having to use the older Bobo VR batteries that don’t keep up as well with the Quester you can switch up to the 10,000 Milah battery.

It’s cool that they’re offering this upgrade path, I think a lot of people want to get the S3 Pro strap anyway though, and switch out of those M2 lines the M3s but if you’re someone who bought an M3 specifically for your Quest 3 it is an option at least to get into a better battery pack.
